Sports Performance Specialist / Core Trainer / Track Athlete

Thal has over 8 years of experience in competing as a professional athlete and assisting individuals, athletes and sports teams in achieving maximal performance. With a rich history as a college and professional athlete, he calls upon his own personal experiences to motivate and encourage his athlete and fitness clients.

A Bit of History

Thal’s exceedingly athletic background in high school and college lead him to pursue a B.S in Exercise Sports Science at Colorado State University, where he earned a 4 year football scholarship to play defensive back and sprint on the football and track and field teams.  After college, he accepted a great opportunity to play professional football in the Arena Football League where he played for the Colorado Crush, Utah Blaze Nashville Kats and New Orleans Voodoo. After football Thal began running track where he won a sub-national title in the 60m dash in 2011.  Most recently,  he ran at Penn Relays in the 4x100m Olympic developmental heat.

nike_calloutIn 2012, Thal was called upon by Nike to lead the Nike Plus Training Shoe Experience at the Sparq National Championship at Nike World Headquarters where he worked with high-performance athletes on utilizing new Nike technology to better their athletic functioning.

Over the years, Thal has gained extensive knowledge of what it takes to be a trained athlete, and desires to share his respect and understanding of the trained athlete with the general public.

  • 200m State Champion, 4x100m Colorado record holder, Mullen High School Track and Field hall of fame recipient 1997
  • Colorado State University – Sport Athlete (football and track and field) 1997-2001
  • Six year arena football veteran (Colorado crush, Utah blaze, Nashville Kats, New Orleans voodoo) 2003-2009
  • 60m Masters National Champion 2011 (60m -4th, 200m – 3rd), 2013
  • Penn Relays Olympic developmental 4x100m relay, 2013
  • Head Body Performance Specialist for The Colorado Flyers, Denver Parks and Recreation, and Shinkara Volleyball Clubs.
  • Head Body Performance Specialist for “Your Body Is Science”- Youth Performance Enhancing Game Time Speed and Agility Camps.
  • Personal trainer to world class skier, Michelle Roark, World Cup Champion 2005, Silver Medalist 2003 World Moguls
  • Created training protocols for youth camps sponsored by Dan Graham (Denver Broncos), Lindale White (Denver Broncos), and Brandon Marshall (Miami Dolphins)
